If you're here from Jolie's blog, welcome! I hope you'll stay a while on my site, poke around in the cupboards, and read some stories. On to the important stuff: five questions from Jolie du Pre, for Cheyenne Blue, author of "Glory B." 1. Why do you write erotica? Why does the pope wear a silly hat? Why does a bear shit in the woods? At school, I was widely acclaimed as the girl with the dirtiest mind, and the one who could tell the best stories. It seemed only logical to bring them together. *g* However, that's the glib answer. The real answer has a lot to do with loving to crawl inside people's heads and poke around. I'm fascinated with how people interact with each other, and their motivations, manipulations and emotions. Sex can be such a microcism of life and character, so writing about sex can be like writing about a person's entire life. 2. What do you like best about lesbian erotica? Apart from the obvious? *g* There's such a great range of lesbian erotica out there at the moment that it seems like my every taste is catered for. I admit to a secret little weakness for lesbian love stories. 3. What is the theme of your story "Glory B." in Iridescence: Sensuous Shades of Lesbian Erotica? Never, ever give up. It's okay to fail, but giving up, or settling for second best is a cop out. In my story, the protaganist, Glory B., dreams of a girl she knows she can love. She moves through her life with Glory B. on the edge of her vision, and although she has other lovers, there's always a hard, unsettled edge to her relationships. Is there a happy ending? I'd say "of course" but that's not always the case in life, is it? 4. Name some other books where we can find your work. My career as an erotica writer goes back to August 2001 when the amazing Clean Sheets accepted my first story, "Shadow Child". That story was picked up by Marcy Sheiner for "Best Women's Erotica 2002". It's been full steam ahead since then. Since then, I've been lucky enough to have stories picked for four editions of "Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica", a couple of editions of "Best Lesbian Erotica" (2003 and 2004), "Best Lesbian Love Stories" (2004 and 2005), "Foreign Affairs: Erotic Travel Tales", "Hot Lesbian Erotica", "Rode Hard, Put Away Wet: Lesbian Cowboy Erotica", "Best of Best Women's Erotica" ("Shadow Child" again!), "Aqua Erotica 2", "Erotic Interludes 3 - Lessons in Love", "Best Lesbian Romance", and "Hard Road, Easy Riding: Lesbian Biker Erotica". Look out for me during 2007 in "Sex and Candy", "Best Lesbian Love Stories: Summer Flings", "E is for Exotic", "G is for Games", "Travelerotica for Lesbians" and "Screaming Orgasm and a Slow Comfortable Screw". 5. Just for fun! Gym Shoes or Stilettos? No choice! Gym shoes! Or even better, running shoes! My poor outsized feet suffer enough as it is without cramming them into stilletos, and anyway, I'm just not that sort of girl. Besides, I love to run! Thank you for reading. And now, I hand you over to the talented Fiona Zedde, one of my favorite writers ever since I read her story "Tattoo" in "Best Lesbian Erotica".
